Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist that occupies the GLP-1 receptor in the brain that regulates appetite. It helps people to lose weight by targeting brain centers that regulate appetite and slows down how quickly the stomach empties which makes you feel fuller longer.  Targeting these receptors in the brain also helps minimize food noise. In addition GLP-1 medications reduce sugar production in the liver and stimulates insulin secretion.

Semaglutide for weight loss is approved to be used in adults and children 12 years of age and older based on their body mass index (BMI) and the presence of certain health conditions. It is used in addition to diet and exercise for long-term weight management in adults who are either obese (BMI>30) or overweight (BMI >27) with at least one weight related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or high cholesterol. It is approved for adolescents 12 years or older with an initial BMI at or above the 95th perentile for age and sex.

Bella Capsules are a custom compounded proprietary blend of the main ingredients found in the two leading weight loss medications; Contrave and Qsymia. In addition B12 is added to help with energy and metabolism. This medication attacks weight loss by reducing appetite and cravings. Appetite suppression is achieved with Phentermine and Topiramate. Cravings are reduced by affecting the addictive pathways in the brain through a combination of Naltrexone and Bupropion.

NALTREXONE AND BUPROPION: A PROVEN COMBINATION FOR WEIGHT LOSS

This combination has been prescribed for years to enhance weight management efforts in overweight or obese adults. In three clinical trials, the combination of bupropion and naltrexone was more effective in reducing body weight than diet and exercise alone. Together these two medications activate a part of the brain that controls hunger. When taken in smaller doses, low dose Naltrexone has been shown to help modulate and reduce appetite. Today, patients use low dose Naltrexone to reduce binge eating episodes, normalize appetite, and lose stubborn fat quickly. Bupropion is an appetite suppressant considered to produce less central nervous system disturbance than most drugs in this therapeutic category. It is also considered to be among the safest for patients with hypertension.

PHENTERMINE SUPPRESSES APPETITE

Phentermine has been the most significant ingredient for weight loss in the US since it was approved by the FDA in 1959. It is used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity, especially in people with risk factors such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes. In May 2011, the FDA approved a phentermine hydrochloride orally disintegrating tablet for the treatment of exogenous obesity.

METFORMIN AND TOPIRAMATE CONTROL BLOOD SUGAR

Metformin is a prescription medication used to treat type 2 diabetes. Several large-scale studies have shown its effectiveness in weight loss, by regulating hunger in the brain, reversing changes associated with aging, or altering the microbiome in the gut. People who take Topiramate  have a reduced appetite, may feel hungry less often which causes them to eat less. Studies have shown that Topiramate may also speed up metabolism, which means that the body burns calories more quickly. When tested in clinical trials, Topiramate induced weight loss and improved blood sugar control in adults with Type 2 Diabetes and obesity.  

VITAMIN B12 BOOSTS METABOLISM

Vitamin B12 has been linked to weight loss, and deficiencies may increase the risk of obesity. Several studies have found a link between low vitamin B12 levels and type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and metabolic syndrome.

OXYTOCIN REDUCES CRAVINGS AND INCREASES SATIETY

Animal studies have revealed that oxytocin reduces the desire for food intake, increases energy expenditure, and increases fat breakdown. In humans, it decreases cravings for high-calorie foods and increases satiety. Studies show that oxytocin levels decrease with age. Oxytocin is also integral to the stress response. It dampens the brain’s response to stress, reducing anxiety. Researchers discovered that restoring oxytocin levels also boosted the activity of muscle stem cells, potentially increasing calorie-burning muscle cells.
